Specialised Floor-Cleaning Machines
In the past, people used to clean their floors by simply sweeping or mopping them. Now, with modern technology, we have all kinds of machines designed to clean different kinds of floors faster and more thoroughly than ever. There are lots of application-specific floor-cleaning machines that most people have not even heard of! Let us take a look at some of these equipment.
Low-speed compact swing machines do the first steps of cleaning and polishing hard floors such as those made of tile, wood, and smooth concrete. They navigate easily around furniture to sweep loose dirt and leave the floor clean and shiny. Next are scrubbers, which have rotating brushes to clean minute crevices in textured floors that are difficult to reach by conventional cleaning means. The scrub heads can easily be changed for different jobs.
Next are specialised floor-cleaning equipment called scarifiers. They utilise multiple brushes to clean out grease and oil deposits. Many top-class hotels use these to get rid of grease in their kitchens. For extremely large floors such as those in sports stadiums and indoor parking lots, sweepers are used. These are powerful gas-powered machines that use air to suck debris and objects.
For soft floors such as carpets, using commercial vacuum cleaners is the best way for upkeep. These gadgets suck out dirt, dust, and other debris. However, if a carpet is extremely soiled to the point that it needs restorative maintenance, power washers are utilised to tackle the job. These machines spray hot water to break down heavy dirt and grime in the carpet fibres. Vacuum action sucks the dirty water out from the carpet, leaving a damp but clean floor. To speed up the drying process, carpet blowers, which blow warm air into the carpet, are employed.
