For a homemade car carpet stain remover, mix together baking soda and white vinegar to form a smooth paste. Use an old toothbrush to work this paste into your automobile's carpet's stains. After the paste dries, vacuum the residue. You may need several applications of your homemade stain remover to get rid of tougher stains. If you are using a steam cleaner for deep cleaning your carpets, fill your machine with equal parts of white vinegar and warm water. Clean the carpets according to the manufacturer's manual of your steam cleaner. The acetic acid in the vinegar dissolves stains and, as a bonus, removes odours.

For a general car wash solution, place a few drops of liquid castile soap into a bucket of water. Thoroughly mix and apply it to your car using a sponge or a piece of cloth. When the solution dries, you will see that your car is cleaner than washing it with water alone. Finally, as an interior protectant, mix together one cup of oil and half a cup of lemon juice. Use a clean cloth to wipe a small amount of the solution on the dashboard and other plastic and vinyl surfaces. Then wipe the excess off with another cloth.
