Cost-Effective Types of Floors for Hotels

For a hospitality establishment such as a hotel, the flooring is of extreme importance because it is one of the structural aspects that gives the establishment its distinctive ambiance. In the past, the floors of fine hotels were made of luxurious materials such as marble or mosaic tiling to complement their themes. Today, however, most modern hotels prefer more affordable choices, especially that there is a trend of refurbishing the floor every few years.

Ceramic tile is one of the best choices for a modern hotel's flooring. It is quite durable and can last longer than most other types of cost cost-effective floors. Because of the large variety of colours, designs, and shapes available, ceramic tiles can be chosen to match any hotel design. Maintenance personnel prefer a ceramic tile floor because it is easy to clean and maintain.

Depending on its quality, carpet is also a cost-effective option. Yes, it is absorbent, susceptible to stains, and is less durable, which means that the hotel has to replace it more often than usual. However, carpet can easily be replaced and installed. In addition, it gives the hotel a feeling of luxury and warmth.

Strange as it may sound, bare concrete has become a popular flooring choice. It blends specially well with hotels that are designed to have an industrial, contemporary look. When stamped with a design, they mimic the look of tile or stone, which can add a rustic atmosphere to the hotel. However, it needs to be treated so it can be cleaned easily. Finally, there is laminate and vinyl. They are very practical and cost-effective and they replicate the look and, sometimes, the feel of natural material. They are typically used by smaller establishments such as B&Bs and hostels.
